The TWU has taken action to protect member Ron Beattie under the new Fair Work Australia legislation and has had a significant victory. Ron believes that he would not have a job today unless he had been a member of the TWU.
Today we received the following feedback from a very happy member, Ron Beattie:

My name is Ron Beattie. I am a member of Transport Workers Union and of late have been given a hard time by my employer. I asked [Sub-branch Secretary] Richard Olsen for his help in this matter.  It went to Fair Work Australia yesterday and I believe we won because the employer had breached the rules and was severely reprimanded for their action towards me.  I have no doubt in this world I would not have a job today without Richard and [Legal Counsel] Oshie and the support from the union it really does pay to belong.  I recommend everyone to join the  Transport Workers Union as they do stand by the oath STAND TRULY BY EACH OTHER AND FIGHT TO DEFEND OUR RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES.  Thanks again for your help and support.

We congratulate Ron on his victory, and thank him for his kind comments.
