On Saturday 25th March 2006 TWU members from the South Coast Branch held a day of protest against Howard's IR changes.
Some 40 drivers, families and friends of the South Coast and Southern Branch of the TWU joined together and drove through Wollongong to highlight the savage attacks on independent contractors by the federal government's proposed Independent Contractors Act. They were greeted by Sharon Bird, Member for Cunningham and Jennie George member for Throsby (federal ALP) and Arthur Rorris Secretary of South Coast Labor Council.
