Welcome to my Transport Workers Union

McArthur Express Workforce and TWU stand together

A family BBQ and fun day, provided by TWU Super, Members Equity Bank and the TWU is a show of solidarity between the McArthur Express workforce who are still waiting for Joe Hockey to ensure that both employees and Owner-drivers are covered under the General Employees Entitlements and Redundancy Scheme (GEERS)

On 7th October over 60 McArthur Express employees, Owner-drivers and their families will be attending a family BBQ at 1 Powers Road Seven Hills.

National Secretary of the Transport Workers’ Union Tony Sheldon, Julie Owens Federal Member for Parramatta and Nathan Rees State Member for Toongabbie will be attending and addressing the group at 12pm.

National Secretary of the Transport Workers’ Union Tony Sheldon said “Joe Hockey may have walked away from his responsibly towards the Owner-drivers of McArthur Express and tried to pass the buck to the states, but the TWU will continue to fight for both employees and Owner-drivers and call upon Joe Hockey to do the right thing and make GEERS available to the families of both employees and Owner-drivers to ensure that their full entitlements are paid.”
