TWU Carrying Australia

Carrying the Courier Industry

your industry

The TWU is a collection of over 15 different transport industries, all working together to improve conditions and safety for transport workers. Although we have lots in common, there are workplace issues that are unique to each industry. We all fight for safety and conditions but this may mean something different depending on whether you are, for example, a freight driver, forkie, bus driver or work at the airport.

The best way to deal with the specific problems faced by each industry is to form industry committees made up of TWU delegates and members who work in that industry. The industry committees were formed at the TWU Delegates Conference 2009.

The committees will get together regularly to figure out what is the best way to fix the problems in your industry and design campaigns to improve your working life.

We are encouraging as many people to get involved as possible to get the best possible result. If you wish to get involved in your industry committee then contact your delegate or organiser.

If you sign up to TWU Enews here we will send you an regular emails about news and campaigns in the courier industry.
