Late January saw a terrible incident on our roads made worse by the inability of bus company, Hillsbus, to follow correct safety procedures. A TWU member while driving a late afternoon shift was subject to a rock attack which shattered the front window. The stupidity of this assault was not met with the appropriate response by the company.

TWU members speak out to protect Chapter Six

Talk to the thousands of owner-drivers operating in NSW and they will tell you the important role that Chapter Six and the IRC have in ensuring that their rights at work are protected.. But what would happen if the IRC was abolished and what impact would this have on the ability of owner-drivers to access Chapter Six? Last Friday, Wayne Forno, Oshie Fagir, and owner-driver Ray Childs, gave evidence at a parliamentary inquiry and urged the State Government to retain the tribunal and the powers it has in NSW.
