SAFE RATES: FIGHT FOR FAIRNESS

TWU members have won the first battle for cost recovery. The Federal Government is now investigating the link between rates of pay and safety for professional drivers because of our Go Slows and nationwide protests.

THIS IS A WORLD FIRST

WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR?

1.    Holding Clients Accountable

Coles, Woolworths and other major clients accept the responsibility for pressures placed on drivers. This includes being paid for waiting times, flexible delivery times and cost recovery for fuel and maintenance.

2.    Federal Determination (Award)

A Federal Award that sets minimum rates of pay and full cost recovery for drivers. Cowboys will not be able to undercut you on wages, making your job secure.

3.    Full Cost Recovery

Transport clients will have to include the rising cost of living in rates they pay drivers. This will compensate drivers for fuel and maintenance.

4.    Enforcement of Safety and Rates

Using Chain of Responsibility laws to ensure all transport clients are forced to pay safe and sustainable rates of pay.

IF YOU WANT A SAFER JOB AND COST RECOVERY, YOU NEED TO JOIN THE FIGHT!

Join the campaign to fight for fairness from transport clients. We want full cost recovery for the entire industry. Let’s work hard and get a decent days pay for the work we do. Contact the TWU on (02) 9912 0700.
