TWU members consulted on new bus timetables and routes.
TWU members and delegates at Hills Bus at Northmead have now been given the right to consult on bus timetables.
Delegates took industrial action recently to protest the unrealistic timetable which encouraged speeding and limited the chance for toilet breaks. Because of the hard work of TWU delegates and officials management at Hills Bus have ensured that TWU members will be part of the planning process for timetables to help make them sustainable and safe. The Industrial Relations Commission reiterated that there must be consultation between management and employees over timetables and this result was a great win for TWU members.
This TWU strength is because of high numbers of members at Hills Bus Northmead who are willing to stand up with delegates when something is stopping them from doing their job safely and securely. Bus drivers face many hazards on the road, and the more hazards the TWU tackles head on will make the bus industry a better place for all workers and passengers.
